Bla Elik on the Line for Round Two - 204

1816hrs December 28, 2008

ITS ALL OVER - AND NOW THE REAL FINGERBITING STARTS

what a feeling.!!!

it was just about 1700hrs when I got to my NAFTI polling station here in Accra and everything was put in place for the count. the ballots were spilled unto a table, and under a lone incandescent lamp fixed in a temporary fixture, they were sorted out into NPP and NDC ballots then the counting began -- one, twooooooo, threee, four, at the end of which NPP had 234, then we started counting NDC ballots , one twoooooooo, treeeeeeeeeeee, oops, there was an NPP ballot wrongly placed so it was set aside and the counting continued at the end of which NDC had 229, NPP was 235

we went to Soul Clinic school as well about a kilometre away and it was NPP 121, NDC 76

indeed, the votes have started coming in. it looks like we are getting some small amount of spoilt ballots - mostly zero, but where they exist its usually max 2 .

in many places it is truly a close call but in some areas its like 400 -200, 400-40, 220-198, 237-169, that sort of thing is coming from the polling stations swinging in either direction... so its for Akufo-Addo now, and Mill the next moment. it is truly interesting. results have been coming in from polling stations from all over the country - Tamale, Takoradi, Kwesi Adade, Accra, Dadieso, Kadjebi.. We are waiting for collation centre results so unless one has the spreadsheet template, you cannot see the emerging picture but clearly its going to be nail-biting all night long.

like I said, Ghana is truly sweet.

very sincerely yours

Bla Elik
